Yasser's goal is to create a community of cycling enthusiasts in Havana. Inspired by the cycle movement that started in San Francisco and migrated around the world, bicycle entrepreneur and owner of CityKleta, Yasser Gonzalez founded Havana Critical Mass in 2015.
The movement started small and picked up speed so that in 2019 he had 100 people joining on a monthly bases. Yasser is on a social mission to resurrect the use of bicycles not only for exercise but as a means of transportation. In Cuba very few people own cars and public transportation is limited and unreliable.
In his new venture, EduKleta, Yasser offers classes in schools, at the work place and privately, to help transform the image of bike riding in Havana. He teaches the young and the old how to ride, as well as safety, traffic regulations, maintenance and bicycle repair; and all for free.
Working hard to bring together international bike-tours and local urban cyclist through events and education, Yasser is involved with "Our City ,Our Space " an international forum, "El Pop Up CityKleta" and the "Festival de la Rueda" (Festival of Wheels).
Join Vaya's Cuba Citykleta Tour and enjoy Yasser's enthusiasm and warm smile as you explore Havana on two wheels.
